Monique Altheim is the Founder and Managing Partner of The Law Office of Monique Altheim. Ms. Altheim is a multilingual and multi-jurisdictional attorney, admitted to the New York Bar, as well as the Belgian Bar in the European Union. As an attorney in Belgium, she had six years experience litigating tort, contract and maritime law cases. She is well versed in the European Civil Code system and the European Data Protection Laws. In the US, Ms. Altheim has extensive experience in the areas of e-discovery, privacy and social media. She is a CIPP (certified information privacy professional) and runs a widely read blog, EDiscoveryMap.com, where she regularly writes on the latest issues in these fields. Monique Altheim has an in depth knowledge of social media strategies and has an active professional presence on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Google +. She has also successfully managed social media teams for marketing and covering international conferences.
Ms. Altheim has developed her own mobile app for iPhone/iPad, the “AltheimLaw” app and for Android, the “Monique Altheim Esq” app. This app is a convenient, mobile, real time source of information on all of Ms. Altheim’s areas of expertise.
Monique Altheim speaks at and moderates panels at international conferences. She has organized and moderated an e-discovery track at the CPDP 2012 Conference in Brussels, and is co-chair of the European Data Protection Forum Conference of 2012. Her current speaking engagements include LegalTech West Coast, the Lawtech Europe Congress 2012 in Prague and the International Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners’ conference in Montevideo.
